Simpson Electric S661 Preset Rate Counter

The Simpson S661 is Simpson Electric’s 1/8 DIN preset rate counter for RPM, feet-per-minute, gallons-per-minute, or any engineering-unit rate derived from a pulse train. Software display scaling handles the pulse-to-engineering-unit conversion at the meter – enter the pulses-per-unit-length (or per revolution, or per gallon) once at commissioning and the S661 shows the rate directly in the target engineering unit rather than raw counts, which is the common differentiator over stripped-down frequency counters that force the operator to do the arithmetic mentally at each reading.

Two independent set-points with optional 5A relay outputs let the S661 serve as an over/under alarm or set-point controller for line speed, feed rate, or motor RPM without adding a separate PLC. The S661 shares the S660 platform (1/8 DIN, 6-digit LED, seven input formats, UL Listed) and is spec’d across the same power, output, and excitation matrix.
