The Simpson S660 is Simpson Electric’s 1/8 DIN preset totalizer counter, front-panel programmable with password protection, display scaling, decimal-point selection, and set-point functions with no PC or external programmer required. Six count modes cover the common bi-directional encoder and mixed-sensor arrangements, which puts the S660 into service on packaging lines, presses, and roll-to-roll processes without a code drop for each retrofit. The count-rate ceiling of 20 kHz on pulse inputs (5 kHz on quadrature-X4) handles most industrial encoder speeds up to and including the Simpson SE quadrature dual-shaft encoder driven near its 6000 RPM ceiling.

The S660 is UL Listed and specifiable across a matrix of power (120 or 240 VAC), output (0, 1, or 2 5A relays), and 12 DCV excitation options that let it serve as either a passive display or a preset control element – the relay outputs turn the counter into an integral controller for downstream equipment without adding a separate PLC or timer relay, and the 12 DCV excitation output powers external sensors directly from the counter panel without a second supply.
