Simpson Electric S664 Frequency Counter
The Simpson S664 is the frequency-measurement variant of the S660 family and the simplest in the series to deploy – range selection is the only setup required, no scaling, no set-point programming, no external programmer. Four selectable ranges cover 1 Hz to 35 kHz, which spans everything from AC line-frequency verification at 50 or 60 Hz to fast pulse-output sensor diagnostics on a bench. The 99.99 Hz range gives 0.01 Hz resolution for low-frequency signals like mains verification, and the 35 kHz top-end range covers most industrial encoder outputs at operating speed.
Six input formats (switch, TTL, CMOS, NAMUR, PNP, NPN) cover most sensor and encoder outputs directly – drop the S664 in place, wire the signal, select the range, read the frequency. The S664 is UL Listed and shares the S660 platform (1/8 DIN panel-mount, 6-digit LED, 120 or 240 VAC power). As an authorized Simpson Electric distributor, BriceBarclay quotes and orders the S664 direct from Simpson – the diagnostic-bench configuration typically pairs 120 VAC power with the 12 DCV excitation option for powering external sensors under test – request a configured quote and we will confirm the option combination and factory lead time.
