Rotork CMA CMQ Part-Turn Precision Modulating Actuator
The Rotork CMA CMQ is an all-electric part-turn precision modulating actuator engineered for control valve and pump applications that require exact position control of ball, butterfly, plug, and other quarter-turn control valves. With up to 124 Nm (1,100 lbf.in) seating torque and accuracy of 0.1% using a 4 to 20 mA control signal, the CMQ delivers the precision needed for continuous modulation duty without the air-supply, tubing, and positioner overhead of pneumatic part-turn actuators.
CMQ actuators use a brushless DC motor with encoder technology for contactless position feedback. Electronic torque limiting protects valves from overstress, while two adjustable position switches and field-selectable adjustments (deadband, zero/span, command signal type, reverse acting) handle commissioning without specialty tooling. For high-torque quarter-turn requirements beyond CMQ’s range, the CMR-250 with GBX spur gearbox is available.
