Mercer Valve 9500 Series Snap Acting Pilot Operated Safety Relief Valves, Pressure Relief Valves (PRV)
The Mercer 9500 Series Snap Acting Pilot Operating Safety Relief Valves are “State of the Art” in pilot operated pressure relief valves. When the system reaches set pressure, the upper seat “snaps” open, which in turn allows the lower shuttle seat to close. This permits the air in the main valve dome to exit back through the pilot and vent to atmosphere. Instantaneously, the main valve opens and relieves the system. The Mercer Valve 9500 Series Snap Pilot has an adjustable blowdown. The blowdown adjustment nut on the snap pilot alters the set spring deflection when the valve has popped. The greater the deflection the shorter the blowdown.
