Jacoby-Tarbox GRQ Engineered Hygienic Clamps

Jacoby-Tarbox GRQ Engineered Hygienic Clamps are designed for uniform gasket compression to seal with minimized gasket intrusion, maximizing process integrity. GRQ Engineered Hygienic Clamp engineers use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to create the clamps and optimize both gasket load and clamp geometry, ensuring uniform gasket loading (compression), flexibility for challenging alignments, and extending joint life. The GRQ Engineered Hygienic Clamp is available with a standard wing nut or optional hex nut.

The full line of GRQ Engineered Hygienic Clamps includes specialty clamps for more challenging applications. The GRQ-RD (for Rupture Discs) is designed with special relief for the rupture disc tab/tag extension, as well as sensing wires, and is clearly labeled “TAB” for easy assembly, while maintaining contact with over 340 degrees around the ferrule. The GRQ-LL (for Live Load) is available to provide consistent force to the forks of the clamp to offset coefficient of thermal expansion of the metal or vibration for Steam in Place (SIP) systems.

Features

  • Uniform gasket loading
  • Discreet contact point, isolating energy on ID
  • Seals the gasket with less torque
  • Decreases the chance of gasket intrusion
  • Long clamp life
  • Large clamp channel profile, nicknamed the "Block A Profile" and double-pin hinge seal out of tolerance joints
  • Block A Profile clearance accepts flanged or lipped gaskets without interfering with the seal
  • Less torque equals less clamp stress (deflection)
  • Uniform radial load means no point loads creating bending forces, decreasing potential for gasket intrusion or gapping
  • Flat nut seat/pocket means one can load the clamp without deforming the clamp fork/lug/arm
  • Flexibility for challenging alignments
