Shop variable area flow meters (rotameters) at BriceBarclay.
Variable area flow meters, also known as rotameters, measure fluid flow rates using a tapered tube and a float. As the fluid flows upward through the tube, the float rises proportionally to indicate the flow rate. A scale printed alongside the tube allows direct reading of the measurement.
How They Work
The float’s position is determined by the balance between gravity pulling it down and the upward force of the fluid. Higher flow rates push the float higher in the tapered tube. This simple, reliable design requires no external power source.
Variable area flow meters are widely used for liquid and gas flow measurement in chemical processing, water treatment, and pharmaceutical applications. Contact BriceBarclay for a competitive quote.
