Ring Inductive Proximity Sensors are special devices that detect metal objects passing through the ring. Altech offers a wide range of ring diameters from 12mm (.47in) to 300mm (11.91 in). The Ring IPS's are available in normal and high sensitivity models.
Altech Ring Sensors are used for variety of applications including punching and stamping operations to detect small metal parts and for the identification of metallic contamination in bulk materials. The sensitivity of all sensors is given in terms of a steel metal ball diameter. This is the minimum diameter steel ball that the sensor will detect. Non-ferrous materials will require larger diameter parts for correct sensor detection.
